How to blog?

How to blog?

Purpose

This document explains how you can become either an internal or external DC3 blogger. Becoming blogger means that your "My Folder" shows up at Blogs left hand navigator panel so that DC3 members or the public can navigate to it easily.

Please note that whether you want to be "blogger" or not, every DC3 user already has access to their "My Folder" folder, which is a folder that they can play with and add content to.  It's your own private folder. When you get to a point that you want to share your content with the DC3 community or to the public then the following instructions apply.

Prerequisities

Tell Al that you would like to blog.  He will set one for you.  (In the future, we might automate this step).

You must first log in to DC3.

Step by step

See the following screen shot.

Enter you text and Save.

You now have a private entry that only you can see.

To let others see it,  do one of the following by changing the state of the document.

Further information

Any content you can create (a blog entry in this case) defaults to the Private state. In this state, only you (the owner and the DC3 Admin) can view it. (Note: in the future we may even take away the Admin's access when content is Private).  In order to share the content you will need to change its state.  Please see the documentation on changing state in the Content State how to document.

Enjoy.
