1. When they ask about how you are and how your family is and don't get to the main point of why they call you at 7AM in the morning, it is because Chinese (Asian) culture is in-direct. They have a need to establish a conversation context first before they get down to business. 

2. When you ask them if they can deliver something by a certain date, they won't say No to you. Chinese people are brought up to be harmonious. Saying No is considered rude. Their reply is most likely maybe or even yes.  And they will try their best to deliver it too. Just that  there are times that it is just impossible and un-doable and causes a lot of stress on everyone.
