What numbers are considered unlucky in various cultures?

Up to Table of Contents

Different cultures have different view of what numbers are lucky and what are unlucky, what kind of problems can I run into when I interact with Americans as far as numbers go.

Asians

Chinese and Japanese both feel that the number 4 is bad; to the Chinese because it rhymes with "death".

Americans

American consider the number 13 bad luck.

Some Americans (Christians) also consider 666 to have ominous connotation for having evil association with the mark of the devil.
