Ends Policies
1. Kathy agreed with Al's observation Ray's proposed language for Spark (Curriculum will be research-based, Curriculum will be age and grade specific) is Means statements and ought not be included in the template.
2. We also decided that there was precedence to include more detailed Ends (outcome) language which fits the Carver model of from high level (more general) to lower level (more specific) outcome-based language. Consequently, we reworded the original Spark template to this one: http://diversitycouncil.middlewaygroup.com/[…]/k-12-students-education with the understanding that the board can still iterate on it.
More work items for GC:
Board Nomination
1. Board officer nomination proposal -- need to tight down language in bylaw how term limits and terms served
2. As long as there might be officer nomination committee why not also ask that committee to also include board member nomination responsibility.
- Reduce the amount of work GC has to do
- Empower more board members to participate actively
3. Will work a proposal to show board
Meeting Protocol: Who can be there? What is considered confidential info? GC will work on a proposal to share with the Board.
